Situated in a quiet pedestrian street in the city centre, the guest house is a real island within the city, radiating tranquillity and ensuring our guests' undisturbed relaxation. The Villa is set in an inspiring environment, where history comes alive and the Danube Bend invites you to new experiences.

The Villa GRAN is a special link between the Basilica, the Castle Hill and the Danube bank. The Cat Staircase winding along the side of the Castle Hill starts from the gate of the pension to the foot of the Basilica, and visitors can admire the panoramic view of the city from the Castle Hill in a few minutes.

Our rooms

All of our 11 superior rooms and 4 higher category suites offer high quality furnishings, sophisticated generic finishes and eye-catching interior design solutions and ideas.

The majority of our rooms overlook the Danube or the Basilica, while some of them offer a quiet courtyard and patio with a special design. Many superior rooms and suites also have a balcony. All our rooms are equipped with coffee and tea making facilities with capsule making facilities, minibar and safe, as well as a smart TV.

Our restaurant and bar is also exclusive, yet cosy and welcoming. We can accommodate up to 50 people for seated meals and up to 70 people for standing receptions.

Our environment

From a bird's eye view, Pilis, at the gateway to the Danube Bend, below the Iron Gate and Dobogókő peaks, is one of Hungary's historical and cultural jewels, close to Budapest and directly on the Hungarian-Slovakian border.
As you get closer, you can experience the special atmosphere of the city, with its narrow streets and historic buildings from the Middle Ages, such as the Castle Hill and the Danube promenade, which create a magical and romantic atmosphere.
Here, in a quiet pedestrian street in the historic medieval city centre, you will find Pension Villa GRAN. The largest park of Esztergom, the Elisabeth Park, borders the building from the Danube. From our restaurant and the terrace adjoining the restaurant you have a magnificent 180 degree panorama of the river.

But let's go back a little to the history of the city, since Esztergom's role is an important part of Hungarian history, both religiously and culturally. In the Middle Ages it was also the capital of the Hungarian kingdom, and the St. Stephen's Basilica in Esztergom is the largest church in the country. The city's cultural life is colourful, with numerous museums and architectural and natural treasures.

Esztergom is also a great place for active recreation. Cycling trails, water and mountain hiking trails criss-cross the town.

Our villa is the perfect choice if you want to organise your business or family event in a luxurious environment and to a high standard. Whether it's a meeting, a birthday party or a wedding, we can cater to your needs with our experienced team.

Our restaurant is also the event hall. The room is suitable for professional events, and we also provide an 86" inch, 217 cm screen TV for your presentations and online meetings in the best possible quality.
If you would like to have a main meal in addition to coffee, we can provide it after a short rescheduling, with a break of about 30 minutes. We can provide accommodation for your event in 15 rooms with a total capacity of 36 people. Most of our rooms have double beds.
