Below you will find answers to the questions we are asked most often. If you cannot find what you are looking for, do get in touch — our reception is available from 7:00 to 19:00.

When is check-in and check-out?

You can take your room from 15:00 on the day of arrival, and we ask you to vacate it by 11:00 on your last day. Early check-in and late check-out can be arranged in advance, at the rates in our current price list. If you would like to take the room before 8:00 on the day of arrival, the charge for the previous night applies.

When is breakfast, and what is served?

We serve a buffet breakfast in our ground-floor breakfast room: from 8:00 to 10:00 on weekdays and from 8:00 to 11:00 at weekends. If you need a different time, please let reception know. After breakfast the café stays open until 18:00.

Where can I park, and how much does it cost?

Our free private car park is 210 metres to the left of the main entrance, just past the Rózsakert Restaurant (GPS: 47.800876, 18.734049). You may stop at the entrance to the Villa while you unload your luggage. The city parking spaces nearby are in a paid zone: in zone 1255 the charge is HUF 500 per hour or HUF 2,000 per day, Monday to Saturday from 8:00 to 19:00 and on Sunday from 13:00 to 19:00.

Do you accept pets?

Yes. In line with our house rules, we accept pets in certain rooms, primarily in the ground-floor Superior rooms.

Is there a lift? Is the guesthouse accessible?

There is no lift. The ground floor of the guesthouse is accessible, and we have one accessible room. A lower counter is also available at reception for guests arriving in a wheelchair.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash (HUF), by debit and credit card (VISA, Maestro, Mastercard), with OTP and K&H Széchenyi Recreation cards, and with a gift voucher issued by the hotel.

What facilities are in the rooms?

Every room has air conditioning, a safe, a minibar and a smart TV, as well as a coffee and tea maker with capsules provided. The bathrooms have a hairdryer and toiletries from dispensers. A shoe care kit, a shoehorn and a sewing kit are provided in every room.

Is there wi-fi?

Yes, wi-fi is free throughout the guesthouse.

What discounts are there for children?

Children staying in the same room as their parents stay free of charge up to the age of 2. Between the ages of 2 and 10 a reduced board rate applies, the amount of which is set out in our current price list. A cot is provided on request.

How far is the Basilica?

Villa Gran lies between the Basilica, Castle Hill and the bank of the Danube. The Macskalépcső steps, winding up the side of Castle Hill, start at the gate of the guesthouse and lead to the foot of the Basilica, so it is only a few minutes’ walk up.

Can I hold an event at the guesthouse?

Yes. Our restaurant seats 50 guests for a sit-down meal, and we can host standing receptions for up to 70 people.

Is there an EV charger or bicycle hire?

There is an electric car charging station in the inner courtyard of the guesthouse; please ask our reception staff for assistance. Electric bicycles are available to hire all year round.

What are the reception’s opening hours?

Our reception is available to guests from 7:00 to 19:00. Outside these hours we provide an on-call telephone service; the current number is displayed at reception.

How many rooms are there, and in what category?

Villa Gran is a five-star guesthouse with 11 superior rooms and 4 suites. Most of our rooms look out over the Danube or the Basilica, while some face the quiet inner courtyard, the patio; many rooms also have a balcony or a terrace.
